PROSTHETIC USER SERVICES

Reform Prosthetics strives to educate, motivate, and reform through professional expertise and a commitment to the highest quality care. For patients who use a prosthesis, we specialize in enhancing the fit and function of prosthesis to maximize comfort and utilization. We provide solutions that alleviate limb pain, bone and joint pain, and/or skin problems related to the prosthesis. Success is achieved through a guided strength and rehabilitation program.

Evaluation

We ensure each patient is equipped with a prosthesis that helps reach goals. Reform Prosthetics provides custom prostheses that are uniquely designed with the patient’s medical, vocational, recreational, and environmental needs in mind.

Education

There are many choices and questions involved at each step along an amputee’s journey. “Is physical therapy right for me? If so, where do I go?” “What rehabilitation program should I be doing?” “What prosthetic technology is best for my goals and lifestyle?” Reform educates and guides patients to make well-informed decisions and to follow the best road map to achieve their goals with a prosthesis. Education is provided on multiple topics including suspension methodology, strength and conditioning, gait training, and running programs.

Gait Training

Gait training is a highly effective segment of physical therapy used to retrain amputees in the proper mechanics of ambulation. Gait training helps patients to ambulate to their full potential--from walking to running. Reform Prosthetics offers in-clinic gait training within our J. Anderson Gait Lab. We provide a variety of training tools, such as steps, ramps, and uneven surfaces to simulate the different environments encountered indoors and out.

Reform Prosthetics uses state-of-the-art prosthetic components. Equipping our patients with the best technology is key in achieving mutual success. Eligible patients will have the opportunity to participate in component trials with the manufacturer, such as for vacuum pumps, feet, or knees. Prior to delivery, Reform can facilitate a trial period for patients to test a component to ensure the best match.

Prosthetic Socket Assessment (Prosthetic Fitting)

Our patients function at their highest level when the best-fit prosthetic components are paired with a well-fitting and functioning socket. Reform will expertly assess the fit and function of each patient’s prosthesis and adjust accordingly to achieve the best possible results.
